About this role
This staff-level engineer will define the long-term direction of Jellyfish's data pipelines and integration platform across storage, transformation, and export. The work includes third-party integration standards, Terraform-based infrastructure, near-real-time and batch orchestration, customer-facing export pipelines, and the reliability practices that keep the system maintainable at scale.
The role is both hands-on and broadly influential. It will lead design reviews, mentor engineers, shape cross-team technical strategy, and build internal tooling and agentic workflows that improve engineering velocity. Close partnership with engineering leadership is expected for roadmap priorities, dependencies, and communication of complex tradeoffs.
Role requirements and focus
What you’ll work on
- Create a durable architecture and operating model for data ingestion, transformation, integrations, and exports at scale.
- Improve the speed and reliability of future integrations through shared patterns, infrastructure-as-code practices, and stronger orchestration.
- Raise technical quality across the engineering organization through design leadership, mentorship, internal tooling, and clear architectural decisions.
What they’re looking for
- Deep experience owning and scaling production data pipelines and complex data infrastructure end to end.
- Expert Python skills, production experience with Terraform or comparable infrastructure as code, and strong knowledge of orchestration systems such as Prefect, Airflow, or Dagster.
- Experience designing substantial third-party API integrations and working with artificial-intelligence or large-language-model tools, plus the communication skills to lead technical decisions across teams.
- Authorization to work for any employer in the United States and availability to work from the Eastern or Central time zone.
